Museum Educational Programs and Tours

 

An interactive Field Trip for all grades at the Sidney Museum
Learn about Pioneer Families on Saanich Peninsula and how they lived, how people traveled in the early 1900’s, and learn about the businesses and industry that shaped our community.
This hands-on Heritage Program is tailored to suit each grade level, and is approximately 60 - 90 minutes long. All programs are free.

Information for Educators
The Sidney Museum is a resource that will help students view the past and present issues, events and ideas. This field study program will help students to gather information and provide a strong local focus relating to the culture and industry found on the Saanich Peninsula in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Kindergarten and Grade 1 students will focus on the purpose of families and some community characteristics

Grade 2 and 3 students will learn about the changes in the school and community, some history about the Saanich Peninsula and the diversity of our heritage.

Grade 4 and 5 students will have the opportunity to focus on timelines, immigration and the contributions of various peoples in Canada - especially the Aboriginal peoples of the Coast Salish nation and the Chinese immigrants brought to Vancouver Island. Download 'Things to do' before coming to
